new hand-printed wallpaper! promenade :: twenty2

The fresh patterns are printed in a color-saturated palette - now with water-based inks - on a variety of grounds, including matte silver and gold foils.
The organic promenade sports a bundle of french tulip blossoms arranged in loose horizontal bands - a tulip festival on a roll. the dramatic, yet sweet, peekaboo, features a high-impact, graphic trellis accentuated by a dimensional shadow.

Sketch Furniture by FRONT

Is it possible to let a first sketch become an object, to design directly onto space?

The four FRONT members have developed a method to materialise free hand sketches. They make it possible by using a unique method where two advanced techniques are combined. Pen strokes made in the air are recorded with Motion Capture and become 3D digital files; these are then materialised through Rapid Prototyping into real pieces of furniture(...) >> FRONT website

Diava lamp & Tolik :: Manworks design

Diava

Simple and compact night lamp with a fluorescent light bulb.
Two kinds of glass are used: clear (transparent) and colored (pigmented). The light bulb is inside.

Homage to BLOCK LAMP by Harry Koskinen.

Tolik

A table lamp.

Semitransparent plastic lampshade in a classical shape is built into a chrome-plated steel frame.
The frame is made this way to allow an easy carrying of the lamp, using the frame as a handle.

Studio MWD (MANWORKS Design) was found in 2006.
We make original and technically accurate design for different products.
Well sold product must be up to a certain quality, which is why our job is creating the circumspect and effective solution.
Industrial design for us is the right idea & perfect realization.

Studio Bizq presents the UNUE-L pendant light

The second product that Studio Bizq has developed in house in the Newdeqo style is the pendant light UNUE-L. Characteristic of the design is the silicone lampshade hanging directly from the light bulb. The lampshade is “zipped” together at its seam resulting in a conic shape.
The small-scale in house production is possible thanks to creative use of the latest techniques and without the use of expensive moulds.

Concept
The idea of a lampshade as a light diffuser has been reduced to its essence.
The lampshade hangs suspended from the light bulb and makes direct contact with the surface of the bulb. The silicone sheet material is highly suitable because of its excellent heat-resistant properties.

Panamarenko sofa :: Fleamarkettothegods

Alas, a flea market to the gods of exquisite taste. Rare, original, difficult to find design pieces by icons from the 50’s - 70's. Enter collector's heaven via the clever flash animation and minimal functionality, for direct contact on each item. Pop-ups are works of art in themselves. Brilliant, witty minds behind this, praise you. There are even more pieces obscured behind St. Peter’s Gate - if you ask the gods. (Best viewed on Safari)

EXHIBITION RUNNING FROM 19 OCTOBER TO 03 DECEMBER 2006
COCKTAIL 25 OCTOBER 2006 AT 7 P.M.

Our end-of-the-year show for 2006 will highlight the valorization of French manufacturers who develop contemporary products with designers. Their products - which received a VIA Label when they were launched commercially early in 2006 - were presented by VIA at Milan in April to boost international distribution. They will be grouped again for this Parisian tribute.

This event is a perfect example of the ongoing activity of VIA, whose mission is to encourage innovation and creation policies in firms and to facilitate links between producers and creators.

All the current Labels will be on show this autumn at the VIA gallery, from 19 October to 3 December 2006 . Trophies will be given at the official opening, 7 pm 25 October, on the eve of the nation-wide presentation of the 3rd IFA (French Furnishing Industries) project.

The 26 VIA Labels 2006 were awarded by a specialist committee to products and collections that apply in a pertinent and original way an innovative approach, whether it be in materials, technology, function or style. A scenographic project has also been distinguished. The designer / industrialist VIA Label tandems are: 5.5 designers / B-Ton design, 5.5 designers / La Corbeille Editions, 5.5 designers / Fondation d'entreprise Bernardaud, François Azambourg / Ligne Roset, Jérémy Bataillou / L'Atelier du Béton, François Bauchet / Ligne Roset, Nicolas Bouriette / Chaiserie landaise, Benoît Convers / Ibride, Matali Crasset / Guy Degrenne, Stéphane Ducatteau / Stéphane Ducatteau, Philippe Hurel / Philippe Hurel, Eric Jourdan / Ligne Roset, C+B Lefèbvre / Ligne Roset, Lissoni Associati / Artelano, Hilton McConnico / MAAD, Bernard Moïse / Billards Chevillotte, Pascal Mourgue / Ligne Roset, Cédric Ragot / Roche Bobois international, Alain Ricard / Celio, Fred Rieffel / Arfa - Kollection, Inga Sempé / Ligne Roset, Jean-Baptiste Sibertin Blanc & Patrick Nadeau / Saint-Gobain Glass, Frédéric Sofia / Ligne Roset, Philippe Starck / International Plastic Industrie, design intégré / Forège, design intégré / Parisot (scenography)
