Project : « interférences »

This urban bench is hesitant about flattening itself completely flush with the ground. Its lower surface undulates and interferes with the ground, affording only a few points of support. But its upper surface is level and orderly and can be used to rest a while before continuing one’s way in the hustle and bustle of the urban environment. Like a public space in motion, it oscillates between order and disorder, a balance generating creativity, conviviality and encounter : beauty within chaos.

The prize-winning item of Parckdesign 2007 competition was installed in the Florist’s Garden in Brussels, (www.parckdesign.be).
