Drift :: Future Systems for ESTABLISHED & SONS

Drift is inspired by a piece of driftwood, or a line that has drifted backwards. It can be used as a bench or a table. It is made in two alternative materials; with a polished concrete finish or a layered timber construction to emphasis the natural grain. Drift came about after thinking of the bench as a line that has gently drifted backwards.

Oneliners "Ploop!" :: Ronen Kadushin

The Oneliners collection is a research in the possibilities of furniture design with computer controlled, "directly from file" manufacturing, using the Internet as a communication medium.

A two dimensional outline of the chair is drawn with CAD software, sent via email to a producer that cuts out the chair from a block of foam with a CNC foam-cutting machine. Since the foam-cutting machine is essentially a precise band saw, the saw blade must enter the foam block, cut out the desired path and exit the block. This presents a design challenge where the product is designed as a continuous cutting line. Hence the collection’s title: Oneliners.
The outcome is a complete product with no finishes or assembly needed.
The design utilizes the foam’s elastic properties in thin sections and its constructive characteristics when it is thick, to design and produce soft chairs that bounce back to shape when not in use.

Wogg 37 Armchair

The structure is made of certified tropical solid wood called Muirapiranga. A multilayer compound spring gives the backrest stability and flexibility in one. This chair is incredibly comfortable. It's extraordinary light and looks - depending on the cushion-covering - futuristic or nostalgic, but always grafically faultless!
