The "CleverKitchen" :: Compact Concepts

Circular kitchen

The circular kitchen is an innovative high-tech compact kitchen concept for commercial and residential use. This 180° revolving kitchen design features all the characteristics of a traditional kitchen with an incredibly low demand on overall space, less than 1.8 sqm.

Whether you are an architect, developer, interior designer, or property owner, you will be surprised at the diversity of new planning perspectives in the city and in the building construction as well as in the resort, hotel and urban development.

Cassetto chair :: Studiobo

“ Cassetto†in Italian means a drawer.

After we came back from visitting Milan design week last year.We have a big question to challenge our idea “Why a chair must beauty only the front-side?†So,It made our inspiration to concern more about back-side of the chair and analyze this idea to design.Then,We generated this conceptual idea in experimental design by merge 2 product forms between the chair and the drawer storage to make an individual drawer chair.
The gimmick and humor of the fake drawers are the added values of this chair.

Monster :: think item

Monster came about during the time I became heavily into the Urban Vinyl / Designer Toy culture. From this love for the genre, I wanted to take the same feel from that and tranfser it into the furniture design scene.

Most succesful Designer Toys have one thing in common and that is they provide an opportunity for customization due to their simple shape. By creating this option, users then become more attached to the design and almost consider it their own once they have placed their personal 'stamp' on the piece. Case in point is the Dunny Series by Kidrobot. The customized versions are rampant and have created a culture onto itself by allowing anyone with a paint brush and time to contribute to this movement.

So when thinking of Monster, I wanted to do just that. Create a simple character form with subtle details that can easily be manipulated so that the user can become apart of the ever evolving design process. It's a piece of furniture as well as a character at the same time without being too playful to the point of cheapening the design.

To further explore the customization process i've contacted designers within the Vinyl community to take on a Monster lamp and recreate it as they see fit. First custom is to be done by Brooklyn based animator, Motomichi Nakamura.

As for the name 'Monster', it came from the idea that when you look at the lamp lit-up in a dark corner, it almost has that feel of something creeping out of your closet in the middle of the night.

OX :: think item

OX had 2 objectives.

One was to create a piece of furniture that when put in place had that feeling of a built-in / structural element within a particular environment. By placing several OX's in a row infront of a bar, one is creating an interior landscape that is simple enough not to overpower the room but rather add a clean and functional contribution. Plus with the option of custom finishes can add a 'floating pattern' when installed.

The other and more important objective was to simply promote togetherness by providing the option of housing 2 patrons at once to either spark up a conversation about what they're sitting on or whatever else comes to mind.

Treme - Treme :: TRIPTYQUE

Inspired by the vibrating graphics of the Sao Paulo's city center's towers, the Treme-Treme library is a homage to the Brazilian megalopolis.
Powerful and sensual, it revisits the organicity and the depth of the "vertical favelas".
Playing with the boundary between architecture and design, Treme-Treme modifies and carves the environment of which it forms part, giving movement and dynamics to spaces(...).
