50 Park Avenue Project :: Brad Ascalon

50 Park Avenue Project was designed for a private client who owns a beautiful midtown apartment, decorated and furnished almost entirely in mid-century objects. For the bedroom, the client wanted some of that aesthetic to carry over, but at the same time, was looking for something modern and fresh. 50 Park Avenue was designed to be very warm and soothing, both visually and to the touch. Within these pieces exist unexpected/atypical areas for storage and display, from the bud vase in the headboard to the vertical and horizontal niches in the nightstands and credenza, used for books or other personal objects, as well as a dvd player/cable box. The project was created with walnut-stained cherry and a cotton-silk blend of fabric. The drawers utilize an auto-closing mechanism. And the glass bud vase built into the headboard adds that little unexpected splash of color and life to the heavy earth tones that dominate the room.

Bi Lounge - Fiberglass :: Orange22

Featured in Surface Magazine’s T.A.G. 2003 in Milan, Italy and Manhattan, New York, the Bi_Lounge pushes the limits of materials by challenging the structural integrity of different mediums. With its sleek, futuristic form and daring combinations of materials, the Bi_Lounge quite certainly stimulates the senses, supports the body, and makes any environment stylistically appealing.

Dot Kite - Lab

"Dot Kite was conceived in 2005, in the shadows of the Italian Alps. It was schooled in the art of fine furniture and SoHo related products, as exquisitely dimensional as its homeland: the brand assumed boldness from its mountainous landscape, its fluidity from the Mediterranean coast. Dot Kite's founders are coming from the first real European generation and therefore borrowed an aesthetic cue from across Europe, but relied as much on sheer design instinct: the brand evolved as a sophisticated product of its upbringing, a tapestry both ruggedly and leisurely refined. The brands of the Dot Kite group, all with their own personal identity, are linked by the same philosophy, which distinguishes itself for a well-balanced mix of tradition and modernity, high quality, creativity and functionality."
